General Trip Info
When is this retreat?
It changes yearly so check the current year event page for this information. In the past we have typically done it late July or early August to avoid graduations early in the summer and the start of school late summer.
Is there a website with event information?
You are looking at it! The event website contains the latest schedule, hotel information, maps, and other trip details. Keep in mind that schedules may continue to be updated as the event gets closer. Use the links to the right to see the most current year or past years if interested.
Will the schedule change?
Possibly. While a schedule is published ahead of time, minor changes and additions are common as the event approaches or as places change hours/close/open. Be sure to check back for the latest version.
Schedule & Activities
Do I have to participate in every activity?
Not at all. The itinerary is completely optional. Join us for as much or as little as you like, or spend time exploring the city on your own.
Can I skip an activity if it is not my thing?
Absolutely. There is no expectation that everyone attends every stop. Feel free to customize the weekend however you like.
Do I need to register for every activity in advance?
Most activities are simply meet-ups, but a few may require advance reservations or tickets due to limited space. Those events will be noted on the schedule.
Hotel & Travel
Is there a hotel room block?
Yes! We have had a room block every year. For the most updated info I recommend you check out the event page for hotel information, links and dates.
Can I stay anywhere?
Yes! You certainly can. The room block is just an attempt to find a central hotel for the plan, help keep us all close, and see if we can work a deal to save everyone a bit of money.
Costs & Payments
How much does it cost?
Nothing unless we want to get together and split a shuttle, Uber, or bus at some point. There is no ticket to buy. It is more of a group that enjoys beer and travel picking a city to hang out in for a weekend.
How do payments for optional activities work?
Some optional events, such as tours or sporting events, may require separate payment. Details on who is collecting payment and when will be shared before or during the trip.
Communication & Group Info
Where can I ask questions or get trip updates?
The group chat on FaceBook is the primary place for trip updates, schedule changes, and questions before and during the event. If you are attending for the first time, be sure you have been added before the trip.
How will I know if plans change during the weekend?
Any last-minute schedule changes, meeting locations, or announcements will be shared through the group FaceBook chat, so be sure to keep an eye on it during the trip.
Is this trip welcoming to first-time attendees?
Absolutely! While many attendees have been traveling together for years, every trip includes newcomers. Everyone is welcome, and it is a great opportunity to meet fellow travelers and beer enthusiasts.
Can I bring a friend or guest?
In most cases, yes. Just let one of the organizers know ahead of time so they can account for reservations or ticketed events where needed.
